Richard and Wenna

Tregedna Farm Cornwall

Wedding Photography

This was my first time that I had been to Tregedna Farm in Falmouth Cornwall for Wedding photography. For most of the year, the venue is a campsite but hosts a small number of weddings.

Richard and Wenna met while at University in Cardiff, Wales. Richard is Welsh and Wenna is Cornish although they both still live in Cardiff. They picked Cornwall for Wennas family and friends as well as the stunning location.

The couple had got married the day before in a registry office with only family members present.

The day started with Richard and friends going for a swim in the warm July Porthtowan Sea.

Tregedna Farm is on the outskirts of Falmouth in Maenporth. The venue is a large barn style lodge building with accommodation for guests below. The main room is very large and multi purpose. Richard and Wenna also hired a small marquee to have the ceremony itself in and chose the lodge for their meal and evening entertainment.
Tregedna Farm is very much a ‘DIY’ venue. Richard, Wenna and families all helped out in the weeks and months before with decoration. This included hundreds of paper cranes. The tables were themed by locations that the couple had travelled. DIY venues are my favourite for wedding photography.

Both Richard and Wenna got ready at the same location. Friends were there to make sure they didn’t see each other before the ceremony. Wenna was very nervous.

There were some beautiful spots to take Richard and Wenna for couple photographs. We were going to head to the local beach but they were running too late for that to happen. We still managed to find some lovely areas within Tregedna farm.

When we came back, we saw that a few of the guests had decided to have a wheelbarrow race! I couldn’t see it ending well….

Richard and Wennas first dance was to a music video that they had made. It was projected on the wall behind them for everyone to see. It showed video clips and photos of them over the years and the places they had travelled. It was a beautiful idea and not something I had seen before.

The music and dancing went on long into the night to close off a very charming wedding day. I wish Wenna and Richard the very best and it was a pleasure and an honour to be part of their special day.
