The Rosevine is situated just across from the tiny Cornish fishing village of Portscatho. It offers a luxury big house by the sea with a marquee. Lauren and Johnny’s wedding was in the middle of August and it was a perfect summer’s day.
The Morning
I arrived early to capture the venue and then met up with Johnny and his family and photographed them getting ready. Lauren had also stayed on site so it was a short walk over to see her as she was having her hair and makeup done.
The Ceremony
The Ceremony room is set up in the house and can hold up to 65 guests but Lauren and Johnny had many more so for those that couldn’t fit in the room, the ceremony was live streamed in the marquee also. Johnny had underestimated how warm some Cornish summers can get and quickly regretted his choice of a woolen waistcoat and suit jacket.
The Afternoon/Evening
The couple were perfect to photograph as they very much just wanted candid images as they both felt that these are more natural and they didn’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. I specialise in natural, candid wedding photography and I feel it gives a more accurate story of the day. We shot a handful of group shots but I kept shooting the entire day unposed. After the speeches I had time to take the couple for some natural couple photos while the sun was setting which gave a perfect setting.
Back up to the marquee for a first dance and a long night of partying for the guests. It was one of the most relaxed weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing and Lauren and Johnny and truly lovely people.
If you are interested in me photographing your special day then please do get in touch by heading over to my CONTACT page. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
