Pengenna Manor is a beautiful venue for Cornwall wedding photography. Situated in the north of Cornwall, the venue is described as a ‘blank canvas’ to use however you would like to create your dream wedding the way you want it, using the suppliers you want.
I met Jason and Esme at a wedding fayre a year earlier and I was very excited to be chosen to be their wedding photographer. We had some fun arranging their engagement shoot due to unpredictable Cornish weather but we eventually found the perfect evening just a couple of weeks before their wedding.
I arrived at Pengenna Manor early to photograph Esme and her bridesmaids getting ready. It was a lovely surprise to see that their make-up artist was Megan who I had previously photographed her wedding. The morning was very relaxed in the beautiful grade II listed manor house on the grounds of Pengenna. Jason had a given Esme a few morning wedding gifts which I captured, one of which was a printed photograph of one of the engagement photos taken with a very beautiful note written on the back.
The wedding ceremony took place at Lanivet Church which was a short drive away. I arrived early to catch up with Jason and his ushers. The church was beautifully decorated. Jason seemed very calm but I managed to capture some real emotion once he was stood at the front, awaiting his beautiful bride to walk down the isle. The service was wonderful with lots of smiles and laughter throughout. After the service, Esme had arranged a surprise for a ‘Unicorn’ to be outside the church waiting for them. A first for me and I believe everyone else who witnessed it! After a brief few photo oppurtunities with the decorated horse, I followed the couple to a cliff spot on the north of Cornwall for couples shots. It was perfect weather yet slightly windy but made for some dramatic shots.
Back to Pengenna venue for one of the best confetti shots I’ve photographed. It was a long line and their guests had decided to throw the entire basket of confetti on them. Pengenna manor was beautifully decorated for the wedding breakfast. The ceiling was decorated with hundreds of paper cranes which had a very touching and personal meaning for the couple. Speeches started the before the food and bets were made amongst guests for how long the speeches would take. Some very touching and beautiful speeches followed by some delicious food.
After the first dance, I noticed some very beautiful lighting from a low sunset so I took Jason and Esme back outside around Pengenna Manor for some beautiful wedding photography shots.
The party continued into the night and I left after getting some great shots of the action. It really was the perfect wedding day with such a beautiful couple.
