Hello and thank you for being here today. As a photographer, I often get a very unique and intimate insight into people’s lives, whether it’s photographing a bride and groom’s first kiss or being honoured to take a newborn’s first ever shots, so it only seems right that I tell you a little bit about myself and why I’m the right person for your photography requirements.
I was born and bred in beautiful Cornwall many years ago. My father taught me the importance of cherishing memories with his constant use of his Olympus Trip 35mm camera, something I now own. I’m very thankful as I have hundreds of photos from my childhood, often of times and places forgotten. It didn’t take me long to realise the importance of a photograph.
As the famous photographer, Henri Cartier-Bresson said “To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event.” This quote really sums it all up. To capture a forgotten smile, laugh or embrace from years gone by is somehow able to bring us back to that moment in time along with all our emotions. For me to be able to take that photo of your precious life moments is an absolute privilege and every time I compose your shot and press that shutter, I know the importance and significance of what I’m about to capture and I know how many years my work will be looked at. It is for this reason that I know that I’m the right person to work with you.
I live in Porthtowan very close to the beach. I absolutely love being by the sea and I surf as much as I’m able to.
I love to keep fit and have recently started training in Muay Thai kickboxing.
I have a large collection of old and retro film cameras that I use.
I play guitar, piano and drums although not at the same time!
I love food and am most happy when there is sushi on my plate.
I have a cat called Milly who likes to sit on my keyboard when I’m trying to work.
